Other Interests and Activities
Working at a computer, and often remote, makes outdoor activities and social groups important and highly valued. More than just a participant, Jay has taken leadership roles and volunteered time to support these activities.
Rowing on San Francisco Bay
An avid rower since college, Jay competes in local regattas and also long-distance endurance rows. He has made six rowing trips from San Francisco to Sacramento, including one solo journey. In 2016, Jay andhis wife Marianne rowed across the Strat of Juan DeFuca to Victoria BC as a part of the Race to Alaska.
Jay has served as the lead rowign trainer, Boat Captain and a board member at SF's 144 year old Dolphin Club.
Choral Singing
WORKING TOGETHER IN HARMONY
A bass/baritone, Jay sings and performs with two local choral groups. He searves on the board of one group, the "Sons of the Sea"
Sailboat Racing Official
San Francisco Bay is one of the top venues for sailboat racing in the world. Jay is a certified race official and has served on race comittees for majo regattas, including national and world championships.

Jay also serves as the Chair of the Communications Sub-Committee of the Executive Race Committee at the St Francis Yacht Club
Cycling
A frequent participant in charoty rides and century rides around California, Jay enjoys road cycing and gravel cycling on the famous roads and trails of Marin County
